Under 11 - Season Review 2010/11
01 May 2011

After such a promising season last year, we had to attract new players for our move into 11-a-side football. Ethan Howard, Chris Taylor and Tom Daniels all left during the summer, as did Billy York halfway through the season, but we added 8 fantastic new players; Dan Jones, 'Bud' Lloyd, Luke McQueen, Harrison Jenkins, Matt Champion, Harry Woodward, Oscar Fitzgerald and Harry Green. We also welcomed both Matt Thake and Dan Fitzgerald to the coaching team, alongside Jamie McInnes and Matt Wakeford.
After much hard-work during preseason, we began our fixtures in a dominant manner, going ten games unbeaten from the start of the season! This included not conceding one goal during the month of October.
Other highlights included our two wins on the mainland in our impressive Hampshire Cup run, 3 wins against local rivals Brading Town and being involved in some great games against eventual League and Cup winners Newport St Georges.
We improved on last season's league finish to come 6th this time around. With more hard work, improvements and maybe a little bit of luck I am convinced we will do even better next season. We have proven that we can match ANYONE we come up against.
BRING IT ON!

Under 10 - Season Review 2009/10
09 May 2010

We were formed in the late spring of 2009 when Jamie McInnes expressed an interest in running a team for Sandown and Lake.
It looked like it was going to be an uphill task as only 2 players turned up to the first training session; Valik Isac (who had been playing a year up for the under 10s) and Todd Wakeford (who joined us from Binstead). The next week was slightly better as both Lewis Askey and Ethan Howard (again boys who had played a year up) joined the new team.
After this slow start more and more new and talented players started turning up at training and things started to look more hopeful. After a slow start to the season we really kicked on after Christmas and started to get the bug for winning.
We lost in the 1/4 final of the cup to Newport St Georges in a closely fought match, and finished an astonishing 7th in the league (a remarkable achievement considering it was our first season together).
We look forward in eager anticipation to next season!
