Sandown and Lake Youth Under 10s - First Season
After the team was started by Jamie in May 2009, it was a real struggle to attract players before the season kicked off.
We played in the Shanklin Tournament at the start of the seaon and things looked quite promising. After a slow start to the season saw us lose matches heavily, things really began to pick up. New players were signed and morale was boosted.
From Christmas onwards we played some excellent football and ending up finishing our first season together in a very impressive 7th place. We also reached the quarter finals of both the Isle of Wight Cup and the Basingstoke Colts Tournament and also reached the final of the Shanklin 2010 Tournament, only to lose 1-0 in a valiant effort against Shanklin.
Overall a fantastic season for everyone involved and plenty to build on for next year.
