NOTICE BOARD
8 to 11 year old girls football (23/01/2010)

Starting 2nd February, Tuesday nigh 6 til 7pm at Sandham Middle School Hall (inside). Cost just £1 per session

We shall starting a new girls football training session for 8 to 11 year olds as part of an Isle of Wight Council scheme to improve participation in the sport.

Grant Ratcliffe who is a very experienced coach who has worked in the states shall be running the sessions.

Any who is interested should register with the IOW Council sports unit on 823818 or e-mail sports.unit@iow.gov.uk

School year 4 players wanted (23/02/2009)

Sandown and Lake Youth Football Club are after players who are currently in
school year 4 to form a new team (under 10's for 2009/20010 season. We already have some players and a level 2
FA coach ready and waiting.

New managers/coaches needed (17/12/2008)

We need new managers/coaches for the 2009/2010 season specifically for under 8's team. If anyone is interested the club would be willing to pay for FA level 1 coaching if not already achieved.

Grant money awarded (26/07/2008)

We are very pleased to receive the following grant money which is to go towards the cost of a storage container and other equipment at Fairway Park.

£2,685.00 grant from the Youth Opportunity Fund
£100 grant from Sandown Parish Council

Fairway Park (16/03/2008)

The club is in negociations again with Lake Parish Council with regards to using Fairway Park for the comming season.

We shall be having a meeting with them over the next few weeks to discuss the matter. We will keep you posted of any news.

Island Waste donation (16/03/2008)

Many thanks to Island Waste who have donated £250 towards equipment for our under 10's team

Coach training (19/01/2008)

All of our teams have at least one of their coaches booked on future level 1 FA coaching courses in February. The names include: Jon Carter and Mike Townsend (under 7's), Andy Hookey (under 8's)Keith Wright and Bill Goozee (under 9's), Rob Evans (under 10's), Dave Taylor (under 12's) and Carl Windsor and Dave Goozee (under 15's) Jamie is also undertaking his level 2 FA coaching licence starting in June with final exam in January 2009.

This will ensure that we provide quality training by qualified coaches and assist with our move towards the chartered status.

Football Foundation donate £400 (19/01/2008)

The Football Foudation have donated £400 towards new kit and equipment for our new under 8's and under 9's teams for next season.

FUND RAISING EVENT (09/11/2007)

Fund raising event raised a fabulous £553 on the day including £80 from the under 15’s.

B & Q to also donated another £500 to our funds.

Many thanks to all of you who came and supported the event and those who helped in any way.

As soon as our costs for the event are confirmed we will send out a note to all parents.

Club looking to achieve chartered status by October 2008 (24/12/2007)

As part of the ongoing development of the club the committee has decided to pursue chartered status by October 2008.

This will ensure we provide improved and consistent levels of coaching for our teams and that we meet future government legislation relating to CRB checks.

Next Commitee Meeting (09/11/2007)

Our next commitee meeting January 29 at the Hurricanes Rugby Club House. Starts at 7.30pm all are welcome to come
